Button-shoed foot
On the plane with extraordinarily tired feet, legs and back.
The Shanghai World Expo was a nutcracker… cracked my nut.
Cracked my back.
Cracked it like a slave-driver who hadn’t seen a slave in years.
And yet I was amazed at how my feet managed the episode:
yes they swelled up;
yes I got prickly heat
yes I nearly suffocated from heat exhaustion; and
yes I was uncomfortable throughout the entire tour.
But, my white, buttoned heel-less Dune pumps made my day – they really didn’t harm my feet one bit. They took the brunt of a bashing mainland Chinese tour.
